what you need to know

VantagePoint is a “ready to use” broad scope centralised real time remote monitoring technology that can be applied to meet a truly vast range of remote monitoring needs.  Inputs include any switched (digital) input imaginable and any reading obtainable from a sensor such as pressure, load, humidity, temperature, current, etc.  A touchpad allows for human input, for instance, to track service visits or rounds. If you have a niche requirement, you can build on our core technology with solutions from our team of custom design specialists.  Both Ethernet and 3G mobile communication options are available, whichever suits the application best.

Many remote monitoring solutions are vertical in the sense that they are equipment or OEM specific, whereas VantagePoint focuses on providing a horizontal solution allowing almost anything to be used as an input source.

In the event of power cuts or communication failures, monitors have battery backup and buffer all data until receiving confirmation that it has been safely received at the server.  The monitors periodically poll the servers to prove that they are working; silent monitors are highlighted for investigation.  The polling function is also used to trigger the collection of new settings and firmware as needed.

The data collected can be used to send alerts, analyse usage, status and condition depending on the inputs in place.  Adding to the dynamic data obtained remotely, customers can overlay static information to give meaning, allowing the determination of reliability by make, model, location and service provider.  This in turn gives decision makers access to objective information upon which to make investment decisions, such as what to replace and what to replace it with.
